Mission
The purpose of the library is to gather and share Indigenous knowledge and to facilitate deep intercultural learning. The library supports the Setting Sun Institute in the pursuit of positive social and environmental change by centering stories from the first stewards of this land on a single platform.

Vision
We envision this library as a platform where the educator, the researcher, the changemaker can find resources to support their work. Through curating content, providing access, and sharing of Indigenous knowledge we open people’s minds and hearts to new perspectives and expand the possibilities for meaningful relationship building. Our work prioritizes deep and intentional collaboration with Coast-Salish tribal communities in the preservation of oral histories and the exploration of personal identities. Our hope is that the development of the library using community-engaged research will provide Indigenous communities and organizations across the continent with a model of collecting, archiving, and sharing their stories.
